COLLOQUIUM Kenji Iohara （庵原謙治氏） « From root systems to special functions »

W. Killing introduced and ‘classified’ (finite) root systems in view of the classification of simple finite dimensional Lie groups (or algebras). Since then one sees its appearance in several domains such as integrable systems and special functions etc. In this talk, some of these subjects around root systems will be explained.
