Since Oct. 2001 : Chargé de recherche CR1 with the CNRS, attached to the Institut de Mathématiques de Bourgogne (ex Laboratoire de Topologie, UMR 5584 du CNRS). This is a junior full-time research position. My « titularisation » (equivalent of tenure) was accorded in September 2002.

Geometric and combinatorial group theory: Artin groups, braid and mapping class groups, hyperbolic groups and spaces of non-positive curvature (CAT(0) spaces) and the isometry groups of these spaces and their subgroups.
